Community Development Specialist Position

Central MN Council on Aging (CMCOA) is seeking to add one part-time position (24 hours/week) to our Community Development team. As a Community Development Specialist you will provide technical assistance for home and community-based services that are dedicated to older adults and family caregivers. Assist aging service organizations to increase participation by implementing new service delivery models aimed at supporting high-risk, low-income older adults to live independently. Bring long-term care stakeholders together to develop affordable home and community-based services. Additional focus areas include: distribution of evidence-based programs; development of community-based services for older adults; redesign and sustain services; and development of healthcare partnerships that integrate all health care delivery, with community-based aging services.

A Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Gerontology, Health-Related Fields, Education, Public or Business Administration or related degree required. Advanced degree desirable.
Minimum of two years professional experience in service and program development, preferably for older adults. Ability to coach and mentor organization leaders through program development and problem solving. As an experienced facilitator focus on community engagement and support for underserved communities in Central MN. This position includes skills in project planning, project management, critical thinking, and innovation.

Starting salary range: $ 19.00 – 22.00 per hour
