In order to become a Certified Health Insurance Counselor you need to complete a Core Body of Knowledge Training session. This is a 18 hour training that takes place twice a year usually in March and September.

In this training you will learn all of the information you will need in order to effectively help individuals with health insurance questions. You do not need a insurance background in order to volunteer for the program.

Due to conflict of interest if you have an active insurance licensure you are unable to volunteer for the program. You are required to volunteer a minimum of four hours per month and that is dependent on the need in the area you are located.

Quarterly update training will be held to inform volunteers of updated information they should be aware of.

If you would like more information or would like to become a volunteer please contact Brenda Wuebkers at: 1-800-333-2344 or e-mail her at Brenda.Wuebkers@cmcoa.org
