
Community Services/Services Development Grants (CSSD)
Funding Opportunity. The MN Department of Human Services
published an RFP soliciting applicants for the CSSD program on
November 27, 2006. Three types of projects are included in this
RFP:
• Capital and Renovation Requests - $250,000 grant-Minimum
of 50% dollar for dollar match.
• Systems Change Grants - up to $250,000 – Minimum
of 50% dollar for dollar match·
• Caregiver, Respite, and Support Program Requests (such
as falls prevention, strength building, transportation,
chore, home modification etc.)-up to $100,000-Minimum
of 50% dollar for dollar match.
To obtain the RFP, application forms and supporting materials,
go to the DHS state registry by November 27, 2006. It is
imperative that you use the current application and budget pages.
Also please note that there are additions to the RFP this round
that have not been part of the proposal in the past. PLEASE
READ THE ENTIRE APPLICATION and make sure you have all the correct
forms.
Technical Assistance: The Central MN Council
on Aging and the East Central Senior Resource Center are available
(on a first come first served basis) to provide technical assistance
consultation to applicant:
1. Review and discussion of project concept and design, how it
fits community needs, including county gaps reports and RFP requirements,
suggestions for possible partnerships and other consultation resources
if appropriate. Consultation can be in person or by phone as schedules
permit. Applicants are requested to provide a brief written outline
of the project concept prior to consultation. Review a draft proposal
and provide comments on strengths and areas for improvement.
2. Applicants should note that using the CMCOA technical assistance
consultation does not guarantee a positive evaluation.
